Functional Medicine Patient

At Millar Functional Medicine, our mission is to provide high-quality healthcare services to our patients. We strive to make our patients feel comfortable and cared for during every visit.

Healing is based on a partnership between you and your Doctor. It's a process, a journey we take together. Remember, Doctor means teacher, not healer. So our job is to teach you and guide you how to naturally, holistically treat and eliminate your health problems.

What we are is Alternative and Holistic Medical Doctors and Providers  practicing together in an integrative practice. We use researched and science based treatments. We're not a big fan of poly-pharmacology where every ill has a pill. We use traditional in-depth blood work with optimal values based on your age and sex as opposed to reference ranges, that don't make sense. We use sophisticated functional medicine testing. We use treatment protocols with proven results. What we are not is a grout of weirdos practicing fufu medicine. Come for a consultation and see for your self.   

For Functional Medicine Patients the Millar Doctor(s) will meet with you in person or by phone every visit, usually 30 minutes, to treat your  problems and conditions 

We use traditional bloodwork and test along with in-depth functional test and  DNA to get to the root cause of your problem and then treat that root cause.

Treatment may include Regenerative Therapy, Nutraceuticals; Supplements; Homeopathic Remedies; Functional Medicine IV's; IM or Joint Injections (we never use steroids);  Ozone Therapy; Nebulizer Therapy; and all the Therapies offered to the Therapy Patients.     

So, the first step to become a Functional Medicine Patient is a "Free Functional Medicine Consultation Visit." The  Consultation Visit  is just that. It's a 30 min meeting with the Doctor for you to tell us what's going on with you and for us to listen to you and see if we can help you.   

** We charge a $30 scheduling fee for the free consultation. If you decide to become a patient, we give you credit for the $30. If you don't become a patient, we refund your $30 on the spot. If you don't show for your free consultation, or you're 30 min late for your appointment you forfeit the $30. 

We block 30 minutes in our schedule for your appointment; and, if you don't show  then others can not get in to see the doctor.  

For Functional Medicine Phase 1 - The intake history normally takes about 3-4 visits over several weeks. We charge a single flat fee of $330 for Phase 1 - Intake History visits no matter how long it takes or how many visits it takes. This includes Urinalysis, Basic Minerals Testing and Basic Toxic Testing 

We're going ask you more questions than any other doctor has ever ask of you. We're going to ask you to keep food logs and BM logs and sleep logs. The more we know about YOU the better we can advise you on health decisions. 

During this time, we also get and review your past medical records, past test and past imaging. We may need to order new or additional blood work or other essential test during your intake. 

Next comes Phase 2 - The Functional Physical Examination visit. We charge a flat fee of $150 for the Functional Physical Examination Visit. 

We do a fully clothed Functional Physical Examination with the nurse in the room with us. Patients tell up its the most thorough physical exam they have ever had done.

If during this functional physical examination we find that we need to do a color doppler ultrasound, then the cost for the  ultrasound will be a flat fee of $100 more instead of the normal $250 for color doppler ultrasound. Sometimes you just need to see organs or other things more clearly. Dr. Millar says, "I can see more with an ultrasound than with my hands or a stethoscope.

Finally comes Phase 3- The Report of Findings visit. We charge a flat fee of $150 for the Report of Findings no matter how long it takes. 

We know you want, NO SUPRISES. At this visit the Doctor goes over what we found in our intake visits. We then make recommendations for your care at Millar Functional Medicine going forward. 

We give you a written report of: 1) What we found, 2) What test are needed and their estimated cost. 3) What treatment we recommend and the estimated cost of treatment. 4) What homeopathic remedies, nutraceuticals, Injections, IV's we recommend and their estimated cost. 5) What we think supplements will cost.   

We get your full approval before we start anything. If you chose to go forward with treatment, as most do, then we start treatment and schedule future treatment appointments.  

Once we have your approval to go forward with treatment, now you have two choices. You can pay for visits one at a time. OR you can purchase a package at a substantial savings. We offer convenient no interest payment plans.

So how do we get paid. Our Doctors are just like other professionals, lawyers or accountants. We charge an hourly rate. So if you have a 30 min appointment then you pay for 30 min of time. Just like lawyers or accountants we also charge for time we spend on your case when your not there or phone calls. 

However if you purchase a package then its all included. Your package covers face to face meetings, phone calls, and time we spend on your case when your not there.

Our Business Manger will go over payment options and set up a payment plan if needed.
